Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Cain is 5'7" and rather lean. She mainly has strength in her legs rather than her arms, and her shoulders are fairly wide compared to her hips.

2. How old is she?
She's 23, but depending on what point in her timeline I take her, she can be well past 50 with her still-the-same appearance from her youth.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
She only slouches when she's tired, really. Otherwise she carries herself high.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
She's healthy, in shape, and has no physical disabilities.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
During the war she fights in, her movements are mostly tense and sharp, but once she loses her humanity, her movements become fluid and leisurely.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
She's probably pretty cute if you ignore her cross-dressing. I mean, for those that like short hair and glasses?

She's very critical of her body's shape and doesn't much care for it. She doesn't see herself as terribly attractive at all.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Kinda peachy and scarred. She has scars from being shot at, clawed, and other marks of the like.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
It's dark brown, kind of soft, and she just wears it like a mop. She brushes it - that's it.

9. What color are her eyes?
Dark brown as well.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
No.

11. What are her chief tension centers?
The entirety of her back, legs, and feet.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Utilitarian - uniforms everywhere, in shades of gray and white. During bedtime, she wears over-sized shirts that she can swim in, and underwear.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
Yes and yes.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
She does, because it's all that she feels comfortable in.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boxer-briefs!


Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
It's kind of deep, and she often pitches it lower still in order to maintain the guise of being a man.

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
She generally portrays herself as confident, so her voice is often clear and measured for her words to be accurately heard (also in order to maintain the lower pitch she uses.)

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
She's American, so there's that.

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Just English - although for ease of PSLs and the like, I often write her as at least semi-fluent in whatever language the other character uses.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
No. Unless we're talking the pitch of her voice. Depending on the relationship with the person she's speaking with, she may use her original voice. Generally only if she really trusts the person, though, and never in public.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
A little bit of both.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Unless she's flustered, she's very eloquent.


Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
A bit of both - though she doesn't excel in much of anything.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
She's had to be mostly quick-witted in order to live as long as she has.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
She mostly works logically and practically.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
She graduated high school... and then got sucked into a world war with aliens. Yup.

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
She's pretty much resigned herself to being good at fighting in her transformed state and not much else. But she does want to expand her knowledge in general.

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
She's a bit of both. She's introverted in regards to personal things, but otherwise she doesn't have a problem with expressing herself, and pretty often.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
She's pretty calm overall. Her mood generally only swings to melancholy during bad nights.

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
It depends on the situation, but she's generally pretty calm about things. She prefers to observe before deciding on a course of action.

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
React - although this is largely dependent on the situation.

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Fight.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
She appreciates lots of different kinds of humor, although she draws the line at gruesome animal jokes. Everything else? Have at! She's fond of puns and video game jokes.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
She may have some amount of Gender Dysphoria, which may explain why she prefers to constantly dress as a man in public. But otherwise she just lives with it.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
The loss of her parents, the war, the loss of many comrades and friends over the years during said war. Later in life, watching everyone she knows grow old and die.

14. What does she fear?
Being alone forever, having others disregard her because of her gender, being mocked for her body shape.

15. What are her hopes or aspirations?

16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
That she's a woman living almost exclusively as a man.


Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
No siblings.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?

She's a 1, maybe a 2. Generally, the person has to be very fascinating to her in some way, or in some way represent what she thinks that she herself lacks.

16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
Not including PSLs and The Love Hotel shenanigans, it is not important. She'll masturbate a lot, but that's about it.

In PSLs, it's special because it represents a bond of real trust with that person.

In The Love Hotel, she's pretty open and it's just a fun way to get off.

17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
She likes intelligent men, or those that she can geek out with. They don't have to be particularly strong for her to like them, either.

She has no known turn-offs yet.

She'll try almost anything once. She's fond of fast food and hard liquor, but she prefers red meats and grains.
